This was my first time dining Vola's. Named in honor of Vola D. Lawson, the first female City Manager in the Washington, D.C. area and a beloved figure in Alexandria, Vola's Dockside Grill pays tribute to her remarkable legacy. Perfect location on the waterfront. There's indoor and outdoor seating. Great river views! This a dog friendly establishment (dog owners were bring their small animals to the dock. The dogs would get a bowl of water and a bowl of apples brought to the table. The bowls go under the table). The staff here are professional and courteous. The food is on point. If you're ever in the area. GET SOME!!!!

CJ our server and the manager freddie were amazing and made sure we had such a great experience. 10/10 recommend will definitely be back! the lobster roll was so yummy and pine colda was yummy!

Overall excellent place. Summertime outdoor seating clutch. The food is B tier with good service and good ambiance. Inferno wings are minimally spicy. Wish they had some crisp to them, but good flavor. Crab cake sandwich is underwhelming; small and not very flavorful. Beef tacos are rich and flavorful! Highly recommend it. The hush puppies and old bay fries were great. The fries have an amazing crispy outside and soft inside.

We had a seat on the patio on a beautiful night. The vibe was lively, the view was gorgeous, service was good and food was good ...other than my husband's crabcake had a lot of shells in it. Luckily he didn't choke and just pulled out the shells as he ate. The beautiful night made up for the minor issue with the food.

This is a really big but really well run restaurant. We were very impressed with the food for what it is. This is not a super fancy restaurant, but I liked that. It's pretty simple food, but well-made, tasty, and pretty decent portions. The crabcakes were small, but really delicious and fairly reasonably priced. The burger was outstanding and tasted char broiled. The lobster roll was very tasty though also a bit small. We all liked the fries. The corn and vegetable mix was the star of the show. They even brought a free dessert for my birthday. We ate outside, and I recommend that. It's a great water view and great atmosphere. The inside was a bit noisy for my taste, but it's lively if you want that kind of thing. Five stars for the service. Everything moved very quickly despite being so crowded, it is very well managed.

Server Alejando provided excellent service. He definitely made my first experience here memorable. He was very welcoming and charismatic. Definitely coming back and recommending this restaurant !

The food was soo good. I wish I had taken more pics. The table had calamari. 10/10, raw oysters , oysters Rockefeller, shrimp basket, seared scallops, barbacoa tacos, burger, hush puppies and Brussels sprouts! Everything was so delicious that we all ate ourselves miserable. But the best part of it all was our absolutely AMAZING server, Sophia! She went above and beyond for our party of 5, (2 adults and 3 kiddos)! The absolute care and consideration she that she provided was nothing short of spectacular and extraordinary! I can't wait to try something new at Vola's, and I'll definitely be requesting Sophia in our reservation!!! Ih and the spicy pineapple margarita and the what a Melon margarita 10/10! Can't wait to return!

Ambiance - beautiful Service - Suzanna anticipated our requests Food - the shrimp po-boys ruined us for similar anywhere else. Absolutely delicious and filling. A perfect lunch experience!
